The Cilandak Sub-district Water Resources (SDA) Executing Unit, built a new water channel on Jalan Lebak Bulus I, RT 01/01 Lebak Bulus Urban Village, Cilandak, South Jakarta.

It has been started since January 29, 2024 and is targeted for completion next week

Cilandak Sub-district SDA Executing Unit Head, Yansori said the construction of this new water channel is a follow-up to complaints from residents through environmental administrators and the local government.

"At this location, there was previously no adequate water channel, so we added a new channel with 40 meters long," he expressed, Friday (2/16).

He explained eight personnel and supporting tools had been alerted to smoothen the work using a U-ditch measuring 60x60 centimeters.

"It has been started since January 29, 2024 and is targeted for completion next week," he explained.

According to him, the work was a little hampered by the large number of utilities at the location where the channel was being built. Therefore, coordination was immediately conducted with related parties, thus the channel construction process could be completed according to target.

The work received appreciation from Idris (41), one of the local residents.

"Previously, this location was prone to inundation, as there were no adequate drains. Hopefully, the work will be completed quickly and the area here will be free of inundation," he stated.
